Baxter Bagley represented South Sevier High School proudly by competing at the Snow College FFA Range competition and placed 2nd overall receiving 151 points out of 150 on the Plant I.D. section! With this accomplishment he was one of three awarded by the Utah section of the SRM, a trip to Sparks, Nevada. The requirement to attend this SRM conference as a youth was to prepare a six to eight minute presentation on a Range related topic. Baxter prepared his presentation on grazing with the Wright Fishhook cactus on his family's cattle allotments and competed at the conference against 30 other candidates from all over the United states and Canada. This trip was a great experience, Baxter learned many new skills in public speaking, preparing presentations, and met lots of professionals that have the same interest and love for Range as he does. After attending this conference and representing the Utah section for SRM Baxter has officially made his decision to major in Range Management. Baxter notes, “This would not have been possible without the assistance Megan Robinson, Mr. Hansen, Dr. Randall Violett, and Mr. Madsen, Thank you”.
